Three Tips for Online Dating

If you have been trying to meet people through online dating you have probably become frustrated at one point or another.  Bad dates, no shows and some weird people can be part of the online dating scene.  It doesn’t have to be this way though you can meet someone online, whether you are looking for friendships or a relationship.  Here are three tips for online dating so you never have to go on a bad date again.

Figure Out What You Really Want

Before you even sign up for an Asian online dating site you need to figure out what you expect to get out of this.  Do you want a long term relationship with marriage in the future, casual dating, or a one night stand?  There is no wrong answer here but you need to know what you want.  There is nothing wrong with wanting either a long term relationship or casual dating but you should be honest about it.  There is no point in meeting someone who isn’t looking for the same things that you are.

Creating Your Profile

When you create your profile it is important to fill it out completely and to be honest.  That doesn’t mean you can’t emphasize your good points but don’t lie or put pictures up that are 10 years old.  Include what your interests are, what hobbies you participate in and more importantly what you are hoping to get from online dating.  Getting your profile right is important it is what will attract the person that shares your interests and what you are looking for.  Here are some tips on getting your profile right.

Pace Yourself

Take your time and don’t rush into anything.  Get to know someone a little bit before meeting up and always meet in a public place and tell someone where you are going and who you are going to meet.  It may take a few dates before you discover that this person isn’t what you are looking for.  Don’t set ridiculous expectations for yourself; you probably won’t meet the right person on the first date…no one does.  Date a couple of people before you decide that this is “the one”.  Don’t lower your expectations because you have met someone that you liked.  Even if you are looking for a long term serious relationship don’t take the process too seriously a bad date isn’t the end of the world.  Stick with it you will meet that special someone.
